Yoga now a national health observance

How cool is this? Thanks to Johannes Fisslinger, President of the Yoga Health Alliance, the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion now recognizes September as National yoga month.

The non-profit provides health education and yoga programs for kids and is partnering with health companies like SoyJoy, with an extensive advisory board that includes teachers like Shiva Rea, founder of Global Mala.

Similar to Dance week, you can now expect free yoga classes and demos and a regional event in the ten cities that have adopted the campaign. In the west coast, event workshops covered preventing backpain, stress, and depression, to a demo on acroyoga, and of course, included lots of vendors. One of the coolest services I found was eLiveLife.com, which offers wellness packages through various cities in CA for super reduced prices.
