While people practiced yoga and enjoyed art installations at New York’s MOMA last weekend through Flavorpill, others were busy channeling their creativity for Haiti.

I read on Treehugger that an English boy named Charlie Simpson came up with the idea to bike around his local park in London to raise money for the children in Haiti. He was quite tired by the time he finished the 5 miles, but received worldwide support and donations adding up to £136,218.50 so far! Isn’t that amazing? You can watch him being interviewed with a Unicef manager here. He’s adorable and seems quite bright.

Last night Thom Yorke and Radiohead performed in Los Angeles raising up to half a million dollars for Oxfam, auctioning tickets for up to $2,000 all kinds of fans.

I have been loving the Hope for Haiti telethon songs – Beyonce’s performance especially! The entire effort has raised millions and millions since Friday and is still going strong, airing abroad. Watch or listen here.

Planet Green reports on how holding a bake sale or giving away an old cell phone can even help right now.

In San Francisco the Independent will be holding a benefit with afro-funk music this Wednesday.

I hope all this can help rebuilding efforts sooner than later. Unicef gives some feedback here.
