I was really glad to read some hopeful news in the Grist Food blog today, (which I highly recommend if you’re into food politics): Apparently the U.S. is stepping in to conserve bluefin tuna by supporting an international ban on the pricey fish.

The Mendocino Wine and Mushroom festival brings together four of my favorite things – nature, food, wine, and art, from November 6th through the 15th. This’ll be my first time looking for wild mushrooms, like my ancestors must have done in the Russian forests.
