A fall treat: Pumpkin cacao smoothie

I like to have smoothies that vary with the season and my boyfriend makes the best variations. This one below came out so good we’d include it at our smoothie bar, if and when we have one : )

Check out our ingredient list and recipe for an organic, pumpkin smoothie and let me know what you think. We like to include cacao, shredded coconut, and hemp protein in most of our smoothies, both for texture and nutritional properties.

Blend ingredients slowly, starting with the frozen fruit and pumpkin, adding milk, juice, and other parts as you pulse your blender. Enjoy!

Super duper coconut almond cacao pumpkin smoothie

1/2 frozen pumpkin chunks (use an ice cube tray to make pumpkin ice cubes perhaps) and 1/2 frozen banana

1/3 almond milk (or whatever milk you like), 1/3 apple juice, and 1/3 coconut milk

a spoonful of almond butter

a spoonful of hemp protein powder

a handful of shredded coconut

a handful of cacao nibs

touch of agave nectar, a touch of maple syrup, a touch of cinnamon, and some fresh rosemary if you have it around
