A place for recycled art and environmental awareness

Last night I visited the new Remake Lounge in the Green Zebra Environmental Center for a night of food activist mingling and media. This is a space that opened in late August for events, exhibits showing recycled art, and classes on remaking and reusing materials by the people who offer the Green Zebra coupon book.

Currently Carbon Collective is hosting ‘Copenhagen’ talks, while the creative reuse center Scrap has its latest art decorating the entire space. (Check out Scrap’s site for their own workshops and how to start your own recycled art center wherever you live)

The formal opening for this Scrap exhibit is tonight and I recommend it. I’m waiting to hear who pimped up the beautiful chair they are showing featuring old jewelry, beads, and watch parts glued all over it. Going to check it out might be worth getting out in the rainy weather.
